Mayor Clark Cecil P. Tiu was the fruit of the marital union of Mr.
Claro S. Tiu of the Rural Bank of Dalisay Rice Mill of San Quintin
and Cecilia P. Palisoc. He first saw the light of day on July 16, 1964 in Barangay
Alac, San Quintin. He is the eldest child in a brood of seven
siblings.
His first view in the academic world began at the portals of CABALAC Elementary School
now Cabalaoangan Elementary School where he finished his elementary
education with honors. He enrolled in Quezon City High School for his
secondary education and pursued his college education at the
Philippine School of Business Administration where he earned his
Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in
Marketing Management.
He is happily married to the former Florence S. Pagaduan of Alac,
San Quintin and blessed with a talented son Clarence Danniel who was
born on September
13, 1997.
Mayor Clark as he is fondly called by his constituents and friends
has always been exposed to the political arena where he earned his
spurs as a Kabataang Barangay (KB) Chairman of Alac and Vice Chairman
of the Federated Kabataang Barangay of the Municipality. His father
the late Don Claro S. Tiu also served as a Barangay Official, Elected
Councilor, Appointed OIC Mayor of San Quintin. He has been a source of
inspiration to his son as he embarked on his political career.
Mayor Clark first run for Councilor as an independent candidate and
won as the 1st Councilor Elect in the 2001 elections and again
re-elected as Councilor on 2004.
He dreamed for a better San
Quintin, yet, aware of the limited resources and clout of a Municipal
Councilor, he ran as Municipal Mayor with a vision to see his beloved
town a progressive, peaceful, disciplined and self-reliant people
imbued with a love of God, Country and people.
To achieve this vision, he sets a mission during the election
campaign. He informed the people that with God's grace, and with their
support, there will be a 24 hours health
service of the Rural Health
Unit, livelihood for the out-of-school youth, women and the disabled,
leadership by example, sports and environmental concerns. The people
believed in what he advocated, thus he won convincingly as Municipal
Mayor defying all odds.
At 12:00 noon of June 30, 2007,
a multitude of people witnessed the transfer of political power on his
hands and on July 1, 2007 he officially assumed the office of
Municipal
Mayor after taking his oath of office on the same date.
San Quintin Paunlarin is no longer a dream. It is
slowly becoming a reality. . . . .
